The audition process

Consort auditions by what we call a "practicum." Auditionees spend two weeks rehearsing with us to gauge their fit with the ensemble: their musical skill, their social involvement, and their passion for Consort's mission.

At the end of the practicum, our Director will hold a brief meeting with you personally, to discuss your, and his, thoughts on your audition. This will be a chance for you to ask any questions you might have, as well. Your audition results will be sent to you by email before the next rehearsal. If you are admitted to Consort, be ready to attend immediately.

What you need for your practicum audition

Bring everything you would bring to an ordinary choral rehearsal:

You do not have to prepare any songs for your audition, nor will you be required sing a solo in front of anyone.

Membership in Consort is offered indefinitely if you are admitted. To read more about membership in Consort, please read About us.

Have a question?

If you would like to know more about the audition process, membership in Consort, &c., please contact us. We're eager to hear from you!
