Consort's aim is to make classical music open to everyone. To this end, we eliminate the traditional rules of the classical concert. We encourage people to eat, talk, and share during our performances. We hold open rehearsals, where anybody can observe the process of learning music. Instead of printing program notes, we discuss our music, encouraging audience participation and feedback. We look for every opportunity to engage our audiences, not just with our music, but with our music-making.

A mixed (satb) a cappella chorus of eight singers, Consort is dedicated to chamber choral repertoire of particular historical, cultural, or musical significance. Our concerts, spanning almost an eon of music, feature secular works, motets, movements from larger "master works," folk songs, spirituals, glees, and popular songs by composers all across the choral spectrum.
