Conducting and Music Education Experience
Conducting
- Conductor, University of Texas Renaissance Collegium, 2010–2011. The choir is part of the University of Texas Madrigal Dinner Committee, but will hold its own performances as well. Duties for the fall semester include selecting repertoire, auditioning singers, and rehearsing a forty-five minute program of Renaissance choral music. Duties for the spring semester are yet to be determined.
- Assistant Conductor, University of Texas Men's Chorus, 2009–2010. Duties include conducting one to two works per semester and aiding in rehearsal of other repertoire (leading sectionals, standing in for main conductor on occasion, &c.) Position is an independent study under Dr. John Wiles, D.M.A. Past coursework has emphasized expressive gesture, score study and preparation, and educational techniques. Current coursework is an in-depth study of podium personality and leadership, in conjunction with preparation for a possible future thesis on rehearsal technique. Works conducted include: Mendelssohn — Laudate Pueri; Wagner — "Steuermann! Laß die Wacht" (Der fliegende Holländer); Liszt — Final chorus (Eine Faust-Symphonie). All three works assigned (chosen) by Dr. Wiles.

Leadership
- International Tour Co-manager, Yale Glee Club, 2008–2009 — Tour to Argentina and Brazil, May–June 2009. Handled coordination between YGC's management, tour company management, and venues; helped advise tour scheduling; managed daily logistics during travel.
- Student director, Saybrook College Concert Series, 2008–2009. Recruited musicians; planned program; fulfilled stage management duties; designed printed materials (poster and program); created overall template for the concert series.
- Social Chair, Yale Classical Music Society, 2007. Coordinated social and recruitment events; aided with long-term group planning.
- Vice President/Manager/Co-Founder, NuMu: New Musicals at Yale, 2006–2009. Designed and helped implement several plans for group organization; co-planned performances; aided with recruitment and social events; designed website; handled graphic design (posters and programs). In addition, took part in the student body that worked with the University to incorporate NuMu's predecessor, the Shen Musical Theatre Composition Project, into the Music Department curriculum at Yale.
- Vice President/Manager, Davenport College Pops Orchestra, 2006–2007. Designed membership and attendance system and managed attendance; designed library system and managed library; helped coordinate concerts and social events; helped revise group constitution; handled some graphic design duties (programs); played keyboard and percussion when called for.
Technical
- Electronic music experience includes: fluency in MIDI technologies; strong experience as a recording engineer, including microphone placement and mastering; long-standing experience in analog (or digitally modeled analog) synthesis; strong familiarity with Cubase through coursework, 2009–2010. Work with all of the above, excepting DAW experience, has been continuous since 2002.
- Student Tech Coordinator, Yale Student Technology Collaborative (division of Information Technology Services), 2007–2009; Student Tech, 2006–2007. Received training in, and performed, diverse duties in computer service; gained extensive experience in customer service/relations; managed public computer clusters. During two years as Coordinator, technical work included: advanced work on in-warranty and out-of-warranty hardware, including servicing motherboards, CPUs, drives, screens, &c., on laptops and desktops; advanced troubleshooting and configuration of popular operating systems; data backup and restoration; diagnosis and resolving of network issues, &c. Also as a Coordinator: managed workload of groups of Student Techs, and aided in advanced issues; co-managed duties in main STC offices; helped train new Student Techs; helped plan administrative changes to STC; aided in graphic design (posters and signs).
